why expect them to ever have any
if people cant pay a car off
why expect them to pay off a house
if people cant keep a job for 3 years
why expect them to pay off a 30 year mortgage
if people cant stay in a relationship
why expect them to stay in a marriage
if people don't understand their own gender
why expect them to know their place in the world
if people have to move for a job
why expect them to grow any roots
if boys grow up without fathers
why expect them to think like a man
if girls are spoiled with every freedom
why be surprised when they become whores
if we are always encouraged to "move on"
why expect people to fix anything
if we don't raise our children with clear life ideals
why be surprised when they grow up depressed and aimless
if we praise emotional responses
why be surprised when our lives go in peaks and valleys
if we call consistency boring
why be surprised when our lives become unstable
if we cant keep our promises
why be surprised when no one keeps theirs
if we dissolve our country's founding beliefs
why expect the people to stand for anything
if everyone came out of another country
why expect their loyalty to this one
if the people have nothing to lose
why expect them to fight for anything
if people have no sense of shame
why expect them to have any virtue
this country is rolling to its demise, and the only reason nobody cares, is because it is rolling at the speed of a generation at a time. those that would be alarmed die off, and the next generation is born into the next stage that feels normal to them and on and on.
just think... every time our grandparents judged us or scolded us, instead of trying to understand them; we laughed them off. as old timers that don't understand the times, the technology, the progress.
an old man close to me died yesterday; its got me in the feels. he always had a helpless despair in his eyes when he scolded me. i'm just now starting to understand why.
