 MSD or Delphi (AC Delco). the LS1 veterans say AC Delco is best, some of them tried MSD and even those fried
 
 i looked around and all i could find for AC Delco were optispark rebuild kits. not the complete unit i can just swap out, but a rebuild kit. seems simple enough, but it gives me a weird vibe.

 Call a parts store and ask for one for the car that your lt1 came from. Just a thought. My l98 has the OEM everything other than exhaust and all is well.2 328i e36's
