i guess he can afford to mess his whole life up, and life in a castle with an 300 year old granny must get pretty boring

rx7 has bottom end noise, i freak out, assume i blew engine
youtube engine sounds, i compare, make decision what i have is rod knock/spun bearing
get car on ramps cause ppl said to check oil
drain a bit in a glass, see no metallics or sharts of steel
(wtfcowboy.jpg)
post ad on craigs for new engine
few hot rodders pop in and say they got engines 4 me
i tell my mechanic homie, what shall i do
he say lemme listen
comes over, listens, says dude, rod knock is louder and way harder than this. dont sound like youre in too bad o shape
i say very well there old sport, tf do i do wit this knock doe
he say 2 me before u buy another engine we must pull oil pan to see if it maybe just loose rod or what if gotta just replace 1 bearing
im like ok bro im not that optimistic but ill make a wish
call my dude with the shop but he is not responsive
so currently waiting on shop availability to get it up in the air so i can pull the pan.
(which sucks cause i either have to pull the whole engine up and out, or drop the subframe and i dont know what is worse)

coincidentally last nite this ole chap in his 70's and talk real slow called me and we chatted sweet little GM things for like an hour and he leads me on this long dwindly story about all these blocks he got layin around in some garage and he keeps bringing up this 383 stroker hehe so im over here gettin fidgety and finally pop the question, he's like well just the lunati parts were $2700 so id sell the whole block and all for $4000 haha
bruh
also said he had a GM crate/new bottom end, just regular smallblock 350 for $1000 with zero miles on it, which is the only thing i might be actually willing to buy off him
was eating every word he was saying till he guess-timated LT-1's put out 340hp, and thats how i knew he was a bit off

also, dont know wtf caused the knock,
car had oil in it, but i did do a burnout earlier in the day.
the old GM dude said i might have starved the first few rod bearings of oil somehow, though i dont know how that would be possible unless my oil pump died
oh yeah, need to see if i have any oil pressure. my guage never worked, so i've never known what i had for oil pressure
