        • just count up your projected costs to get it where you want it (be generous), then look at that number, and ask yourself....

is this expense worth the enjoyment i think i will get out of the car?

          • and then question 2 would be, is this money better spent getting my (much cooler) porsche's engine sorted?

            • The 911's motor should hopefully have the top end rebuilt next year in April. It'll be my birthday present from myself to myself kind of situation, I am expecting a retention bonus from work as well so all going well, it'll land in place.

For now it's more, I need a car that I can trust to get me to and from work every day, regardless of the heat, with AC. Right now, I don't think it'd cost that much to sort out the AC situation but I do get concerned with the heat in the e28.

              • hey heres a fun story

bob has a 1991 honda accord sedan.

bob also has a 1991 acura nsx that needs a new head.

bob is spending money on his accord sedan to make it cool, instead of fixing the nsx.

bob's neighbor sees this, is confused, to the point of madness.

                    • Yeah definitely have a plan in place for the 911.

I don't want to spend any more than I have to on the e28 so that I have more money left for the 911.

                          • Those fires are gnarly.

I'm still not sure if I want to fix ODB or part it out and save that money for my next move. Which will probably be out of California.

Ordered new tires for the Duc. 3rd pair to go on in 9300 miles. I ride this damn thing too much.

                              are you "done" with it?

does it bring you more joy than another car could?

if not, part out and move on
