need a smaller rear sprocket on the moto. sounds too wound up for my liking at 60mph

I'm going up a tooth on my Triumph's front sprocket when I replace my chain. 80mph at 5k in 5th gear sucks on that bike.

Buddy says I should change front and rear sprockets which will get me great highway ability, but I really don't want to lose that first gear wheelie power either.

wonder if I can get away with just going 2 teeth down on the rear and leaver the front stock...
