You absolutely do not need a whole bird..

Sure you can use a whole bird, but it's definitely not necessary. I usually make stock from wing tips, and chicken thigh scraps/bones, breast bones... All that matters is that you use enough...

No worries Seb, I figured you guys were neck deep in that thing. I know nothing about CIS except that it is evil. Makes me glad the rig I've got now has less electronics than a blender.
