Car shows are pretty great when you can go with a group of friends or meet some there. I've also been horribly spoiled by always having some form of pit pass, so I guess going as a regular to a race event can be tedious, but then you get to see more of the actual race rather than just when the car needs sorting... I've got some seats for the Monaco Grand Prix in May, which I'm looking forward to because a) Monte Carlo is fricking beautiful as a city and I would love to live there, but that is WAY BEYOND my means and b) I've not been to F1 before.
Monte Carlo also has rules like; no bikinis in public, no tacky shorts in public, dress like you're worth more than that yacht and the locals aren't allowed in the casinos.

There's one good club that meets sunday mornings 10am for bacon rolls and test driving each other's cars - that's where I picked up the Skyline. Street races are off the cards completely because everyone is a pussy.

Local weekend meets here are really bleh. Haven't been to one since before my two recent cars, and probably won't go to one ever unless I go to troll with friends.
And lastly, what are you doing awake still lol...

They're not that common, r33s are a lot easier to find ( http://www.autotrader.co.uk/search/u...icksearch/true link to nationwide search.. 16 for sale in the country, of course not counting word-of-mouth and forum sales) - I saw it parked at the meet and hovered by it until the owner came over, was just intending to have a chat about it and say how it was nice to see one. Got chatting and he mentioned he was selling it, let me have a drive and that was THAT.
This weekend meet can be pretty good, we've got a Dyno/Rolling road day booked for the group on the 29th and are going for a christmas meal etc, high end cars turn up fairly often and its very mixed. More for enthusiasts than those out for scene points, old guys come in their classics and will happily chat about newer mods and share what they know. Last meet there was a Reliant Scimitar (look it up its cute) and a Ferrari f430.
