So my old apartment sent my account to collections, and I got a call from the debt collectors on Friday. First time I'd been contacted about any outstanding balance since I moved west two fucking months ago. Emailed the apartment manager asking what was up, and he claims they had to fully clean the apartment, replace the carpet, clear out the pet odor, and take out 6 bags of trash. Oh and that he never talked to my ex about any further charges after she'd moved out.

So I call my ex and she says the dude is lying and that she did clean up. I know her, she's OCD enough that everything would be spotless when she left. She says she asked repeatedly if there would be any further charges and that she was told no each time, which I also believe because unlike the sack of shit apartment manager, she's not a liar. And our 20 lb dog was out of the apartment two and a half months before either of us moved out.

They're supposed to call me today to go over the shit they charged me because they "couldn't find my file" yesterday. They did say that replacing the carpet cost them 500 dollars.

My ex's new roommate works for the better business bureau, so if it comes down to it I think we'll be filing a complaint. My ex also said she will be going to the apartment office this week to speak with them directly.

Fuck I don't need this bullshit.
