My yurt was simple to assemble and has weathered well for three years. Not insulated enough for NY though. That's why I'd go with the wooden ones.

I think it would be cool to build like a 50' over a 3 car garage (I don't even think they make them that big) that had lofts and at least 3 bedrooms. lol
Was looking at pacific yurts as that was the first compnay that came up on the google search 'yurt'

I bought a Pacific and they've been great. They max out at 30' though. The wood ones go to 41' (1200 sqft) and are insulated to R-35. I always wanted one over a 3 bay garage.
