They're pretty sweet. I would probably go with a wooden one if I did it again though. This company's yurts look pretty trick.

My yurt was simple to assemble and has weathered well for three years. Not insulated enough for NY though. That's why I'd go with the wooden ones.

I think it would be cool to build like a 50' over a 3 car garage (I don't even think they make them that big) that had lofts and at least 3 bedrooms. lol

I bought a Pacific and they've been great. They max out at 30' though. The wood ones go to 41' (1200 sqft) and are insulated to R-35. I always wanted one over a 3 bay garage.
