I've messed around with a bluetooth obd thing at its pretty ok considering its just 15 bucks and a free app (torque on android).
I guess you could make a pretty OK setup if you're running a track car or something. I mostly just use it to check codes.

Doesn't come close to having real gauges or whatever though obviously .
