Can't function without that morning cup of coffee? Researchers in the UK say the idea that coffee gives you a boost in the morning is a myth.

A study from psychologists at the University of Bristol reveals the caffeine in coffee does not make people more alert - all it does is relieve withdrawal symptoms.

The BBC quotes lead researcher Professor Peter Rogers as saying "That alertness you feel is you getting back to normal, rather than to an above normal level."

However, if you don't regularly drink coffee, a latte, espresso or cappuccino will give you that coffee buzz.

Its like a cigarette. Though Mondays I have to get up at 400 so I can drive 2 states down to be at work at 700. If I do not get coffee when I first start driving, by the time 630 rolls around I am struggling to stay awake. I have done it twice without and never again.

Lol. Wish I could wake at at 8:15 everyday. I have to wake up at 7. Not as bad as some, but I still haven't gotten used to it after 11 years.
