This past [baseball] season, I took a bad hop straight to my middle/ring/pinky fingers on my throwing hand, and apart from breaking the whole tip of the ring finger, it also popped my nail clean out of the skin bedding and the back of it was sitting on top... But the front was still attached, so they ended up sliding it back in after my bone healed.
Hurt like a sonofagun.
