Don't think it is one vs the other for most people. My last 6 cars were all BMW. I would not turn down a S2000, Skyline, or a nice 190E if the price was right.

you have obviously never owned an aging skyline then.
expect to replace shit after every track day unless you have spent huge money on the motor. but then you'll just start breaking other shit.
