The most recent thread on Bfc OT that got locked this morning was greaaaaaaaat.

Out of nowhere somebody felt the need to start a thread bashing SW? Hey, if being closed-minded and argumentative works for you, go to town.

The VW scene has been doing the slammed/low offset/flush/poke/stretch thing for years before it became mainstream/popular as it is now and back then, it was ***** on by every other type of car enthusiast as a stupid VW thing. Fast forward a few years and all of a sudden those people who ***** on it when it wasn't mainstream are balls deep in it bc it's the cool and hip thing to do

I was about to say good wheel fitment has been around since day one. Its also how the Japanese got the wheels to fit correctly on solid rear-end cars when camber wasnt an option.

People will always **** on other people's style whether its because they are jealous or they legitimately just don't like the style, and there are some people who can't appreciate what people have put into their cars. Its like how die hard muscle car fans can't stand imports, its just the way it is.

Or people are just ignorant and because it has really taken off in the past few years people view it as a fad, regardless of whether it is or isn't some people will never take the time to see what the style has to offer and understand how hard it is to make a hellaflush/stanced/poked/stretched car.

Chris definitely knows what he's talking about. Even though VW tuners and Japanese tuners have been slamming cars on stretched tires before many of us were born, the whole Hellaflush/Stance thing has just recently, in the past few years, really got recognition. So just like the whole car show scene, drifting, etc. it only lasted a few years in the limelight before in started to shrink and only the die hards were left.

Anyways to answer the OP some people are just close-minded and think every single modified car should be a race car and handle like one even if it's just a DD. Or other reasons but basically they're just won't ever change their way of thinking.

True...this "style" has been a part of the vw scene for a long time now. look through some PVW's pre 2000, and I'm sure you'll find VW's and Audi's with stretch/poke/slammed/cambered stances.

I like how its taken off, a lot more people doin it brings more ideas to the scene. And who cares who hates on it....like we don't **** on certain styles ourselves...
