  • Tuck vs.Poke vs. Flush

Okay so after I buy my new springs(to go lower ) I will be looking at getting a new set of wheels while I refinish the Equips I have now. I'm going gold. But anyways....

The delema I am in is wheel sizing.

right now I am on 17's and i love how I am very low with poke. Like Matt's car...poke with 17's.

Hope you don't mind me using your car as an example matt... E46 love.

    OR....

Flush with 17's... And when I say flush i mean like this....kinda.... i did some searching and couldn't find an example of exactly what i was looking for. Like dubbr's car on vwvortex, The e-famous red MKV... just imagine these but with a little less poke...

The set of wheels I have my eyes on however are 18's and i know that if I poke with 18's I will not be able to go as low as I like to be and will get this gay ass rake...

    I **** rake.

But I have kinda been digging the tuck stance lately like this...tucking 18s?

[Insert piture of Brod's car here]

So anyways what are some thoughts/opinions??

    I drive an E46 BTW.....

Dan's (dubbr) car is much more tuck than poke/flush. Forward rake is the shit, don't knock it lol. Reverse rake, on the other hand, sucks big donkey dick

And fuck springs, coilovers are a must to dial in any set of wheels imo

well i'm on fully adjustable coilovers allready. My fronts are completely bottomed out and I still have like 1 finger of wheel gap, so i'm just ordering new springs for my coilovers...shorter AND stiffer!

Generaly I'd say go for as much tuck as possible then move them out as flush as possible HOWEVER - on an e46 I'd have to say go as low as you humanly can w/ a little poke. Poke flows well with e46 fenders. I'm almost ashamed to admit I'd sacrafice low for poke if I were in an e46. Anyways the combo I mentioned is WiN and a half. Good luck on your mission man

Ah gotcha. What size tires are those up front as they look kinda small

A little more poke and a little more low up front should be money. The wheel is flush but the there's some room to go lower and out more with that stretch

its a 205/40 on an 8.5. i plan on spacing these out a bit when I go lower as well.

If you get 18s, go flush.

17s, if you go poke like Matts car.

                          IMO.

I like tuck on some e46s too but you gotta go lowwwww and push the lip as close to the fender as possible. I dont mind 19s on e46s either if they are very tucked and fitted.

This. I'm not a huge fan of tuck on E46s though.
