He's just reminding people to take precautions and showing what can result if appropriate measures haven't been taken. It's pretty obvious that it's his friend as he has stated that at the beginning. And as for track record, when he updated people on Elvis's car, regardless of the big whine about competition factor between websites, he mentioned at the beginning of the thread that he was re-posting and he did have permission to do so. So with your logic, if he has told people he was re-posting before, why would he not still do so if this thread was another re-post? Think about what you say before being disrespectful.
What? How was he being disrespectful? He asked a simple question which had a simple answer and then explained the reason why he asked that question. Seems logical to me.

Glad to hear your friend is okay.

Another bit of key advice- make sure your jackstands are in a good place. I had a car slip off of a jackstand once and it almost cost me a finger. 7 years later, I don't go under a car unless I double-check everything.

I used spray bedliner on mine to help slipping issues.

thanks for your guy's concern and the great ideas!

i will definitely bug him about it to be more safe, his recovery is amazing though, he says he has no headaches, no pain at all when you touch it, and no stingy when washing, but he does have nightmares about when it happedn.

but hes around working on cars and living life again ha!

A friend of mine died 2 weeks ago while the jack stand failed. Be very carefull and never do major works by youselves, try to have a friend nearby in case something goes wrong.

The link is in romanian, but at 00:50 you can se the reconstruction:
