This topic leads me to beleave that the only reason you want a Bmw is for approval of people from the internet.


Did you try driving both and seeing what car makes you happy?

Why would it lead you to that?

I'm just asking to see what people have to say. The only reason I started to consider an E46 is because this particular one I could actually afford. So I was asking if people thought it was worth it.

I'm not going to buy a normally priced E46. Know what I'm sayin'?

Be careful of cars that are put on pedestals on the internet, because once you get your ass parked in one you may discover its really not that grate of a car.

Not sure if anyone is still here but I have a supercharged e46 (325ci) and I'm thinking about trading it with them paying cash on top for an 318is. Opinions?

I too have contemplated this. I currently own an E39, but I am also looking to buy either an E36 M3, E46 330ci or an E92 335i. I'm leaning more towards the E92 335i...i would go over all 3 if I were to score an E39 M5 for a good deal though.

Now, not trying to thread jack, but what do you guys think about an E46 330ci compared to an E92 335i as far as reliability goes?

My 330Ci has been reliable for the duration of my ownership. The biggest thing is maintenance. Which, realistically, goes for anything.

A 335i has more performance potential, but is also much more expensive to maintain.

Hey remember that time I suggested that you get an E36 but then you said they were too ugly but you ended up getting an E36 anyway? :|

If you want the middle of the road, buy an E36 325i or something similar.

I skipped the E36 simply because... I think they're kinda sorta ugly.

...it's slowly growing on me though. I think once I get these Gottis on and lowered I'll see the beauty in it. Like Anne Hathaway in Princess Diaries.
