  • How embarrassing

I thought I knew what poke was, based off of how my friends had described it to me.
Turns out my idea of what poke means was way off.
Anybody wanna let me know what poke actually is/means? I understand everything else, but apparently not poke.

Poke is how much the wheel is sticking out from the fender. Sunken is stock usually. Flush is even with the fender, and poke sticks out.

Lower offsets or larger spacers give more poke

If the outermost part of the wheel isn't flush with the top arch of the wheel well; the wheels are either "sunken battleship style" or they are exhibiting "poke" : ]

Poke is that thing you do on Facebook, car people used to always poke each other to let them know that they had good wheel fitment, and the term eventually caught on in real life. You can use it physically too, for instance if you're at a car show and you see a car you like, poke either the owner to let them know good job or your closest friend to focus their attention on the car.

It started so long ago that people have forgotten the true meaning and have adapted the term to mean other things shown above.

but that's what I thought originally... I guess I was right hahaha
I had just been looking at a thread where a few members were saying a car's front fitment had too much poke, and I personally found the car to be more flush than anything...

                    but thanks guys :B

Paddi is an offensive term used for an Irish person.

TIL how that term came to be.

Here's the definition you're actually looking for, OP:

Poke (or, properly punctuated, Poké) is the first half of the portmanteau used to create the name and brand Pokémon. 'Poké' is short for Pocket, and 'mon' is short for Monsters. Pocket Monsters, Pokémon. Get it? Cool.
