    Sup yo.

Just wondering if anyone has had the chance to mess with one of these yet. My laptop is damn near ancient (almost 8 years old) and I could really use a new computer. I've wanted a Macbook for the past couple years but I can't justify spending $1200 on something to basically just surf the web with. I'm out of school so all I need is a computer for your basic bull shit.

I've read just a little bit about them but I want to know if anyone here has had some experience with them. My biggest concern is iTunes and iPhone syncability ('cause I'm an iPhone fag) and the storage. It looks like the computers have 16gb flash storage on the computer than a 100gb "cloud" storage through Google.

If anyone here has some input that'd be great.

call me a conspiracy theorist, but i dont trust the cloud. anything that i cant physically store on my laptop or computer has no reason being saved. with all the reports of databases being hacked and/or compromised is a joke. not to mention those of us here who are savvy about creative ways to download things we might not care to pay for. giving up all that data and download information over to a company under the jurisdiction of the FCC and SEC is not in my top ten list of things to do...

If you are really worried about your data, you shouldn't have any of it on a computer.

Mac is all about the design and nothing special inside, for a regular usage you can buy a high end HP for a low cost. There is no special about the synch also.
I am planning to buy salwar kameez tomorrow from a shop that sells salwar kamez online

I'd get a Mac for the OS.

And my sister had an HP and has nothing but problems with it. My uncle works for HP and buys Mac computers, I think I'll stay away from them. I haven't used Windows 8 or even seen it in person yet, but damn does it look funky. Not sure if I want another Windows computer.

Should also point out the price for the "disposable" laptop as google puts it for around 200

What about a Mac Mini? Starting at $599, they are a bargain (for a Mac). You can find factory refurbished models for as low as $399 if you're lucky.

You can find basic new PC laptops for $300-400 this time of year.

My friend had a Chromebook but got rid of it because he couldn't install 3rd party software on the OS.

Thought about the Mini but I'd really like to have a laptop again. My current laptop is basically a desktop because the screen is broken and I really miss being able to take my computer anywhere.

Meh. I'd have to use the new OS a bit before I went in that direction. Plus I've noticed the tablets really aren't all that cheap.

Look into a Asus Ultra book, there hardware is bad ass.

Or Any Asus product, all laptops come with a year "drop or smash warranty" meaning you drop or smash it you get another one fo-free.

And they have the standard 2 year on top of that.

I just bought a lower end Asus laptop with an i3 to have at home just for internet use, and I feel for the money I spend I got a very high quality product that is light years ahead of that HP junk.
