Anyone here play music?

I play jazz/rock drums, I can sing and play a few songs on the guitar and 3 Vampire Weekend songs on the ukulele

I played percussion in symphonic band and jazz band in high school. I've been constantly jamming and playing with friends at open mic nights since then.

Supposedly I started a band with three of my buddies, but we've only had one practice in 3 months. I was in a band in high school that lasted 2 practices after they other guys booted their drummer that I was tutoring for me...

Anyone else play?

I've played Guitar, Bass and Double bass for around 12 years. Played double bass in National Yough Orchestra of Ireland for 5 years, countless other orchestras too. Playing bass in a band called Watercraft at the moment. Kind of jazz and classical influenced mathrock. I'll post some links once we've recorded our EP over Christmas.

Just wasn't for me... I can't read notes fluently and i have more rhythm than melody in me. It seemed like work, drums seemed like fun.

I love the piano too, but I just don't have the free time to learn. I love hearing a great piano part in House or Trance. This thread makes me want to bring out my old trombone.

I would love to be in a sick jazz band. It might not be as cool as a "rock" band, but that stuff is just so much fun to play. Horns just add so much to any band.
