  • Kinda bummed, car got hit.

    Hey guys,

Earlier tonight my car was backed into pretty hard by a Rav4. As with all low cars, their's was pretty much fine, my hood is smashed and my bumper is garbage. Looks like I'm going to be without the car for a couple weeks.

This car is my life, one of my only outlets and one of few things I can get true happiness out of. Sure, everything will be fixed, and much worse could have happened. But I'm feeling pretty bummed. I'm sure somebody has had there car bent up before, any advice to deal with the emotions?

Take it out on some rav4s
Expect problems and eat them for breakfast.

        Go smash up some e36s.
        or e30s
or any bimmer, in that case.
It's like rock-crawling... in the streets...

If I had a nice lifted truck, I suppose I could just drive over some Rav4's.

All jokes aside, we're all car enthusiasts here... One of the main things that brings us together as a community. I'm sure any of these jokers above would be pretty heart broken if the same thing happened to them.

One of the worst feelings, especially if you've put work in yourself. I guess the only things that can bring you any kind of reconcilliation, is the fact that you are alive, kicking and fine. Other then that, everything happens for a reason... Might be the excuse to hit those mod's you have been putting off. Makes you appreciate what you've got.

Still pointlessly angry that people like BMWs, I see?

Yeah, I could have used a repaint on the front from slain bugs I suppose..

It sucks because my front end badge was shaven, now I'm going to have a stupid Saturn badge there until I can find the time to shave it, then have it resprayed AGAIN. Ugh oh well, you're right, at least I am okay

                as for BMW ****, I don't understand..

Shit happens man. It wasn't your fault, but I understand why you're bummed. I was in a similar situation a little while back and to be completely honest, I can't even look at my truck the same anymore.

But the love goes on. When you get her back, she'll be the same old car she always was.

Thanks man, I appreciate the advice. She's my second car, first one to have actual pride in. Owned since 08. But it will definitely go on for me, this is an ownership for life for me.

Peeped the truck build thread that you have yesterday. Really digging the camper. You really make me want to buy a small truck to tinker around with. Honestly that shit is on point, I like the direction you're going. Keep it up

I also believe that everything happens for a reason (like iBronzit said); sometimes its just hard to see what that reason is. Just think, for the hardcore drift guys and girls out there, something like this is just another day out on the track!

I kind of know the feeling though, I went from daily driving mine to it being out of commission for a little over a year. What helped though was the strong community on the forums (posting replies, threads, ect), doing research on common problems with the car, browsing the web for automotive news and parts, watching youtube car clips, going to car meets and shows, and playing lots of Forza on xbox.

Just remember: Most things are replaceable, people are not. Glad to hear you are okay.

Thanks for the advice on what helps. Hopefully I can have a rental car so I can still drive myself around. Maybe get something cool for a couple weeks. I think it will be difficult to find Saturn parts, but they are out there somewhere.

Yessir, Pittsburgh ARS. You familiar with it? and thanks, I have the insurance adjuster coming Friday to look at it.
