  • Who likes E34s?

Ok so story is im supposed to be getting a Volvo 245 when i get back in town in two weeks. Its a 4 speed wagon. Runs and drives, old lady only wants $500 for it. Ive had my sights on this for quite some time..
However i was browsing the CL, and noticed a 95 E34 (Touring!) for about the same price. Cheap as fuck. Thats when the BMW impulse kicked in.. I know this is prolly a lemon, but i would reeeally a Bmw, esp a touring... Ad says it needs window work, but apparently it runs.. Ugh im supposed to be looking for something that i could drive every day without impacting the wallet! I posted a thread about the 245 but i guess no one here cares about Volvos..
Damn i shouldnt do this, but my open mind is telling me to give it a chance. This is bothering me. Someone reason with me

E34's are giant money pits if they're not maintained. I'll bet you that thing needs every front end bushing, rear subframe mounts and the interior is falling apart.

I can believe that.. A volvo would be much more of a safer bet

Yea i do too, but i also wanna make a rational decison here lol, i wanted one that wouldnt cost me thousands of dollars to maintain, just simple stuff is good with me. I wanted an e34 or an e12, but ill prolly end up with the volvo 245 since it seems to be the cheapest, also its the only one with a manual trans

no objections to the volvo....it's solid and a milekiller....and the 245 is a cool ride and manual trans rocks...what about the condition and the milage?
              I drive what I want, and what I ain't drivin' I don't want...

Its clean, paint is faded, almost patina at this point, all boddy parts there, but the PO says itll need brakes and rotors from sitting, as its not driven much anymore and it seems to be missing the shifter top, theres another thread i have in the off topic section about the 245, not bad for running 500 dollar car
