    I voted wheel because I think its correct, but I say them both.

    When I worked on the engine line as Nissan, everyone called the engines motors. That shit drove me crazy.

    Urban Dictionary says for rims:
    The outer part of a wheel that supports a tire. The urban definition of rim would be the entire wheel. Obviously some people were very unknowledgeable to cars and now rim means wheel, how gay.

    i **** when people say rims as much as i **** when people say motor instead of engine. a motor is an electrically driven device like power seats or windshield wiper motor and the engine is what propels the car.

    Well technically, a rim is the outer most part of a wheel (which would be the beads). So unless if you are specifically saying that part of the wheel, rim is an incorrect and completely slang term (thanks rappers) for wheels.
