  • Everything is great until you have to deal with the stealership

About a month ago I found a 2006 GLI with 70K miles. I got it at an absolute steal on it at $10,500 with a Certified Pre Owned warranty. It is of course bone stock and will be for a while so I can get the most out of the warranty. Anyhow, I had to go to the dealership on Monday because I had a check engine light come on, and my Air Conditioning blower motor crapped out. No big deal as they are warranty items. I really wanted to get them sorted however because I am driving to Michigan in a few days. So I go to the dealership and find out that not only did the dealership not even file the paperwork with VW of NA acknowledging I own the car, but they didn't even have it as a registered CPO car. So I had to then contact VW of NA to get that figured out which was an absolute pain in the ass. Then to top it all off, I dropped the car off Monday morning, and they didn't even start to work on it until wednesday afternoon. I need the car to be ready for my drive on Sunday. How the fuck can a dealership get away with such scummy business.

    Cliff notes:

Fuck dealerships, and their scummy service.

sucks man. be glad you have that warranty though. a girl i know has a mkIV 2.0 jetta and she broke down because her alternator went bad, had to have it towed to a VW dealership, 700 bucks parts and labor to put an alternator on.

not that anyone on this website would be taking their cars to dealerships to have alternators installed though. haha.

I am glad to have the warranty because that does save a lot of headache on parts and labor for a new car. But it is so damn frustrating dealing with moron service writers. this is the first car I have ever owned with a warranty, and the first time I have ever had to deal with warranty work, but I have always been of the mentality that dealerships are in the business of fucking people over hard.
