Anyone remember this? I'm referring to the gas prices, but the game still kicks ass too.

I remember when $2/gal was considered "expensive", shit when $1.25/gal was "expensive" in the states. Now if I see 93, for under $4, I get giddy lol.

But I don't complain about it all, I'm pretty sure most Americans on here realize how much more gas and taxes are in Europe.

^ On here, sure, since there is a lot of international 'coverage' and group of people.

Go onto somewhere like S2ki, or Honda-tech, and the same dick gobblers always complain as if the US is the only fucking country in the world. And that's cool, I get pissed when I have to spend 1.30+/L here, but these guys just don't get it. Many members, like here from wherever else will point out, that Ameri-gas is 'cheap', and it goes unheard of or ignored and the complaining continues... Ignorance is bliss? Or just arrogance on some peoples' part?

We used to complain not because of our prices compared to the world, but because of our prices compared to what they used to be a few years ago. Picture your $7 per liter going to $14 a liter in less than 4 years. If we turn this around, you guys (Norwegians not included) are complaining about your prices even when other countrys have it worse.

We haven't really been complaining recently however (at least I haven't) as they have actually gone down since a few years ago. The last time I complained about gas prices was when I had to get gas in Boston (just 65 miles away) and gas cost $.80 more per gallon.

Old thread i know, but it is an interesting topic. People are always going to complain about gas prices and taxes. But Norway has to be one of the worst countries regarding car prices. After a while you start to think that these prices are normal. But look at our neighbours, Sweden. I got a flyer from the liberal party FrP. A camaro srt10 costs about 500.000nok in Sweden, the same car costs 1,4 million nok in Norway. So you pay more in taxes than what the car is worth.

In Norway you can buy licence plates that just last one day, these cost 360nok. You are not supposed to use these for everyday driving, they can only be used from your house to the nearest ''Statens vegvesen'' which is Norway's DMV. But police will likely not care if they catch you. But this means that if you buy a rare and exotic car that is is probably cheaper to just buy these temporary licence plates everytime you want to drive. Because you aren't going to drive a koenigsegg ccxr to the shops everyday. (a car that costs 17million nok, after taxes). And just register it after 30 years, because then the car is free to register. It's a sick system for car lovers.

Only thing is, we don't pay any money for electric cars. So i've seen that the Tesla S is cheapest to buy in Norway. About 400k

Sorry about my rant. It is not easy dealing with these prices when you are a poor student looking for a car. i'm angry.

1 norwegian krone is about 6.5 usd.

                        Hell yes.

What's the octane rating like compared to the US? 93 is the highest I ever see in Texas.
