Tom the goat.
shortly after getting to my regiment, whilst on a 3 day test/training exercise on an arduous area in northern england as part of 'section comps', i was sent up what could be described as a mountain by some, to collect a flyer for an extra 100 bonus points. My section set me off from a point on the road beside the river where they could carry on and meet at an RV 2km away, i swam through the river, and started climing the monster, and i was rushing to continue proving myself as worthy and make a good impression, i had climbed about 200m vertical metres and looked down to see my section had only walked around 500m on the road(everyone including myself was carrying 70lb+ and a rifle) so thy were shocked how fast i was moving upwards.Anyway i continued up to the top through the low cloud, collected the flyer at the trigpoint and started running back down towards the RV trough the clouds. my section were waiting for me at the Rv and saw me coming bouncing down the mountain faster than anyone though possible and before they knew it i was swimming back across the river and stood next to them. they were all tired and hungry and for some reason i was ready for more and suggested continueing to the next stand of the competition. one of the lads commented i was like a mountain goat for managing to get up and down it so fast, so it stuck. and has done for the past 2 years. im happy with it, could be worse.
