  • Purchasing Help Needed Please - 1990 BMW E30 M3

I found this M3 when I was looking around for cars and it was newly listed and is going for a little less than $3K, has about 71,000 miles and it looks clean. What I am worried about is if the car is real or not. I dont know much about the E30 M3s but I am thinking that it is one of those "too good to be true" situations. If you guys could help I would really appreciate it.

I may be going to check out the car this Saturday or Sunday if I'm lucky and if he responds to my email. I'll put up some picks of the car.

3 grand? Either that's a typo or the motor needs a rebuild.

That's what I said when I saw the price too. A rebuild did come across my mind too. Thanks for the advice.

What CJ said. Or maybe it's a salvage title.

For that price, I'd buy it anyway, even if it is a replica or needs a rebuild, still worth more than what he's asking.

The body looks really clean real or replica; the only other thing was the VIN# didn’t work when I looked it up, maybe it was a typo when they did it but who knows. Anyway thanks for the help hopefully this will work out and it’s not a spoof.

Edit: CarFax may not work on a car like this? Didnt think of that just because of it's age.

go with cash ASAP it will not last long.

Even if it's not real, it's worth more in parts, but it does look legit.

i have a strange feeling this is a scam. if its not, you should jump on it. I would definitely do so.

where was the car located? i can see palm trees, so its certainly not CT. haha

It does seem too good but the ad said its actually in NY, not 100% sure where but the search was limited to 250miles so its within that range. The first picture is misleading I will say.

On the car, does it matter about the front badge on the grille? I see the M3 badge on the rear and also a plus, the trunk is raised not flush like the base model, which gives away a seemingly real M3.

I'm sorry, but that is a 100% scam

How come you buy an E30 M3 for 3k? Not even the shell is cheaper like that... but good luck and let us know if he answers the e-mail

Give me the vin# ill tell you if its fake or not.

Also judging by the rear window, its a real M3. because the fake ones don't look like that and most replicas don't have it, because you need a real M3 as a donor since thoses parts are no longer available.
