  • Paint job

I seek some help from any one of knowledge to paint jobs for my project. I hope there is more people here knowing paint than in the forums where Im active. (It's for my 4x4 expedition truck with no stance)

Earlier I had an idea of painting my car either white matte or coal grey matte, paint up a retro motive like the norwegian expedition sailor "Berserk" on the fenders (Yes, I saw the E28 "Rusty" here on the forum afterwards). And as a final touch cover the whole car with soot from a oxy acetylene burner or somthing like that.
My problem to solve: Is is possible, and should I use an another gas? Asked a friend of mine, but he wasnt sure if the soot left adipose/grease (or whatever you call it) on the material.

Oxy acetylene is the only way it will work- it leaves traces of carbon, which sticks to the paint when cleared. It's an old hot-rodder/lowrider paint trick that a lot of oldschool painters used on paintjobs for added effect.

You HAVE to clear coat the entire paintjob with a matte polyurethane clear after giving the paint the carbon treatment.
