Hi guys, just wondering what is the deal with your insurance? Just been looking through the old car thread and some of your first cars are amazing!! My first car was a 2002 Ford Fiesta 1.25 Zetec and i was paying £2,300 a year to insure it!

Do you insure yourself and not the car or something??

Insurance in the states is not nearly as much as in Europe.

      You should live in Denmark....

if you just had your license 5000$ a year for a 20 year old BMW 320 is not unheard of....

and there is allways the 180% importtax on cars

Would be exactly the same in UK if not more with the current exchange rates!!

Assuming youre on about an e30, then £800 maybe? Price of the car is irrelevant, im sure its the same story with any 2.0ltr car. Insurance are going to bend you over with a new license if you try to insure a car with a big capacity engine.

                  Ouch

Is it the same situation if you went abroad yourself and drove one back? Germany must be swimming with e30's and thats not too much of a trip is it?

I live in the middle of denmark and have 2 hours drive to germany small country

but yes there is still a tax for importing it calculated after what they cost used in Denmark so the price will be the same, but usually they will have more accesseries in them... since that would also be taxed with 180% here if the car was new... and that is highly criticized as it also applyes for security equipment... so we have small shitty cars without anli locking brakes and airbags and shit like that...

btw this is what ebay.de gives you for 4000€

                      a fully built e30

yeah i've heard that those northern countries are quite a bitch when it comes to luxury tax

you all should insure your cars in romania, my 520i sets me back 150$ a year, basically highway tax compared to your insane prices, but pretty much minimum wage over here
