E28's, Why?

While I appreciate bringing back retro cars, unique styling and Individuality, I don't understand why there has been an surge of E28 love. The styling just seems off to me. I'm a complete BMW noob so I just wanted to see what is the draw. Comfort, Power, or is it just Rusty?

E24 > E28, but that shape front end is the iconic BMW shape and generally easiest to find in a decent shape unlike the older E9/E21s etc.

Thanks for the honest explanation. I guess the front end is a defining shape. I always thought that the E30 look, while being a warmed over copy of the datsun 510 was the more iconic BMW look but after just looking the E28 shares front end lines with more of the old series of rigs.
