It's hard to name a car until it's 'done' (at least the first time around). Only car I ever named was my Protege, "Scrapey". Which was kind of an obvious one. The new owner renamed it "Chubz" because it looked like a white lump sitting on the ground. I guess that one was a "guy".

Cars are classy and elegant, like "women". You wouldn't say, "Wow he's a beauty" would you? That's why some people usually give "Man" names to rougher looking cars.
I'm a genius.

My last 4 cars have all had male names. Currently I own Jimbo (MkIV GTI) and Ol Dirty Bastard (e24). Before that...well, I guess I can't say I ever gave my Mustang a name, but I never thought of it as a she. Ratty was always referred to as a he as well.
As to why they all wound up with guy names...I'm not sure. It just sort of worked out to be that way.

I don't do the whole gender assignment thing for inanimate objects. But I guess people make them girls because they treat them like wifeys.
My friend's Trueno is a boy, according to her.

Well mine's a man. His name is Steve and he's a stock 2005 white 325i.
What's the name and gender of yours? I'm assuming most of your rides are going to be female, but why?
I'm curious. So, ready?
