Flat paint: Quit being afraid of the ocean waves your shitty body work left behind and gloss the shit already, CHEAP ASS
Rat Rods: Just because it looks "Traditional" DOES NOT make it right, BROKE ASS
This is probably the most asinine post on stanceworks to date.
spray painting perfectly good wheels. if your wheels are chipped and curbed and the car is your beater, you can spray them, but when you go buy a brand new car and rattle can your wheels then post pics bragging on how good they look, you are a dumb ricer. powder coat them, have them professionally painted, or replace them.
Yeah. Rat rod cars usually have just as much work into them as they're glossy counterparts. Otherwise they're not rat rods they're just beaters.
Also, having done alot of both gloss AND satin black on my car i can tell you that getting a consistent satin is just as much work as polishing up a glossy finish, especially when doing large spans
About the only difference is when doing trim, because then you dont have to color match ( color matched trim usually looks like ass anyway)
"aftermarket rimz" that are stock size so that you can save money and use stock tire sizes. I work at a GMC dealership and its sad how often this happens.
Just popping in to say that rat rodding is a style, just as euro "stretch and slam". Don't knock it by saying its half assed. You don't have to like but, but don't spew ignorance.
And a proper flat paint job is just as expensive, and usually more, than an equivalent gloss paint job.
Black wheels.
Billet grills.
Carbon fiber hoods, hatches, etc. Specifically unpainted with a shitty weave.
MKVs on a randomly colored wheel.
Stickers from every company you've ever bought a mod from, stacked on a body panel, on anything but a fully sponsored show car.
And remember, kids, sometimes "******" have a point.
threads like these inevitably cause drama and should be deleted. i mean, you invite '******' in with the word **** in the title. look at the skirmish that has already broke out with the a-hat that hates murdered cars/rat-rods, etc.
Black Tail-Lights
ASA-AR1's with black centers.
Any Flat-Lip wheel with black centers on polished lips. Black centers need to be on stepped lips, NOT flat.

I am not ****** on anything but intentionally poor craftsmanship, traditional does not equal trash, a traditional "ROD" would be finished to the best of its builders ability, not, " Hey guy... lets kill this case of PBR and build a piece of shit and call it traditional..." I have mad respect for ALL car builders but I draw the line at intentional garbage work. A proper paint job can cost in excess of 10K a flat paint job at its best cost less then 5, and yea my car is slammed stock but find a post where I talk shit.
I'd rather have this...
Than this..
Any day of the week. A lot of it also has to do with the owners of such cars. Rat rods are built by regular joe's in their backyards while most street rods are built by shops for customers who pay 100k+.
