  • Has a shop ever damaged your car?

    Hey OT,
I took my car to a local garage to have to replace a cv joint in my lowered 337 (i still have damn near 2 inches of clearance, practically 4x4 status) turns out i needed a new axle, got one shipped and installed no big deal. Come back to pick up my car and my front bumper is torn half off. The garage owner says that its not his fault my car is too low to back straight out of the driveway, admits to hearing it scrape on the way out, but refuses to repair the damage. Long and the short of it, i payed for the axle and instillation and left with my busted ass bumper. I know i got screwed but how badly. Should i bother with small claims court or should just suck it up and repair my bumper?

The shop should have told you, I wouldn't be taking my car to a shop that doesn't know how to come out of an entrance at an angle... that's basic driving technique...

Get the shop to pay for your bumper.

              They have no excuse.

Next post should be about how you used your testicles to chokehold the shop manager into paying for it.

no pics, in all honesty once i calmed down i realized that it mostly snapped back on, a few mounts are snapped off but nothing some epoxy cant fix. It's more the guys attitude then the damage that pissed me off. It is what it is.

Any shop worth their salt should fix something if they break it themselves.

You know what happens when a low car shows up here? We drive it like a low car should be driven -- that includes angles, ramps, and anything else necessary to ensure the car doesn't get F'ed in the A while it's in our possession.

If it's their fault and they're not offering to fix or pay for it, then find a new garage. One that knows how to drive low cars.

                            This.

How many mounts broke? Does it cause the bumper to sit oddly?

Fuck that. Make them pay for a new front bumper, or at least give you something in return for fixing it yourself.

Lol Flynn's is like 5 minutes from my house.

Try Quads next time if you don't end up doing it yourself. I used to work there and they do great work. He knows about lowered cars too from mine and all my friends that I had go there.
