the driving and shooting are way better then i was expecting.

i tried my best not to expect a weird new kind of GTA but i couldnt help it.

i am quite impressed.

picked my copy up after work yesterday, got home, had to delete a ton of crap from my 360's hard drive to install the game (8gb to install disc 1, R* recommends not installing disc 2), so i didnt start playing until around 8pm.

awesome.

the driving is so much better, the aiming is better (no more health bar for enemy, just shoot until you see the red X), and the graphics are insane.

i "borrowed" a helicopter and just flew around for about 30min. the view is incredible...

also, i hope it doesnt take a crazy amount of time for skills to level up. my flight skill is only up to 20%, the heli was swaying all over the place.

So I only played a few mission 20-30 mins of the game! I am mind blown! there are so many new cars areas guns the whole layout is so so much better the gun menue all of it its great! But the player has so much more fighting moves now its crazy! I spent a hour high running up to random dudes and knocking them out. If you tap the run button and then hit the punch button while running he will do a super man punch! lol its so funny just WorldStaring ppl! lol SO SO GOOD!

I got my copy yesterday and only got to play for about 2 hrs. Sooo good, the user interface with the guns, changing characters, phone, etc. is so much better on this one.

IMO the new driving mechanics suck.

Each car feels the same, and there's not alot of (if any) suspension feedback. There are a ton of new vehicles which is awesome but they look less detailed than the previous vehicles. I think driving in GTA 4 was much more involving versus this new system and I feel like the map was take directly out of Midnight Club. (Really wide roads, strange curves in roadways) so far that is my only gripe with the game but it is a really big part of the game. It seems as if they went really realistic in most aspects of gameplay (missions, activities, landscape) and arcade-y in the driving mechanics.

The story is great so far and everything else I've explored is amazing but the driving really dissapointed me. The car modification is pretty cool. You can put bozo style exhaust and drift charms on a few of the cars too. Ha

Has anyone else noticed in a lot of the pop up messages that is says "San Andreas" and not "Los Santos"? And I agree about the driving, but I feel like making this such a big story and map they had to let something go, but all GTA driving has been arcade-y IMO. So no big change there for me though.

San Andreas is the State (country side and not towns) and then Los Santos is the physical city.

Ah gotcha, I thought for sure that I was wrong somewhere. Thanks for clearing it up, kinda bugged me when I first saw it like they forgot to change the scripts haha
