  • Wheres best to start?

hey guys, im new to the whole stance thing. Im liking the old bmw's sat on bbs rims, whats the best small bmw to look for? bear in mind i live in the UK and i will get raped for almost every penny from the insurance company lol!! for example i was paying £1400 a year on a 1.1 litre haha.

    im here to learn lol.

I'm sorry man but I think you're going to have to reconsider a BMW since the smallest engine in a BMW is a 1.6L Petrol [; as far as I know].

Maybe you should consider a Volkswagen. They're reliable, strong in the stance scene & smaller engines are available!

I was looking for a polo but I dunno if it's worth it. I was quoted a few hundered on 1.8 BMW over a 1.6 polo lol. It's difficult because I don't know much about bmw's. Plus where I live there isn't anyone with a BMW, and it's nice to be different.

If your heart is set on a BMW then it will have to be a E30 1.6 for insurance purposes, you can pick a good one up in the UK for around £500 upwards but you will have to check arches, scuttles, seals floor wells etc for rust and rot also get them to have the car running till it gets hot if it go's into the red walk away its more likely to have heating probs also check oil cap for white substance as that is a bad Singh to,log onto the E30 Zone you will get loads of advice on there.

I know its down to personal preferance but what do you guys think looks good on a E30??

Sounds like youve found a good one If you treat it with respect and get it serviced on a regular basis then there's no reason why you cant use it as a daily or weekend drive i use my E30 24/7,as for style just look at the showroom, pics and build threads on here for inspiration.

sounds like a plan lol! are they cheapish to run or quite thirsty? are they easy to drop on coils or...? i do like the BBS RS' but they are quite costly arent they lol, what about a set of Lenso BSX's? the Lenso's only come in 15" or 16", will that suit a E30?

Yeah they can be cheap to run depends on how you drive it?putting it on coils should be easy to do plenty of tips on here and other Bm sites to show you how,as for rims the list is endless check out Diamond Racing they have some awesome deep dish rims on there depends on what look your after tho?BBS RS are nice but depends on your budget!
