I was just curious as to how many of us there are that prioritize the stance of their daily driver over their "project car"...
This is my project car, still bone stock... I bought it in 2008

This is my daily when I bought it a year ago

...a day later
The following spring

and this summer...

It's slightly lower now, but I don't have any new pics
I don't know, to me driving something that I have personalized just feels right to me.
This was my old daily, until the motor blew, had it rebuilt to a 4.7L Stroker, and now it is just a toy, and needs to be "restored"

It's not about turning heads to me, a yellow BMW does that stock... it's all about turning my head. My tdi had been in the shop for a while, so I drove my bmw to work for a couple weeks. Although the weather was nice, and I could drive with the top down, and has much more power than the tdi (the jeep is the actual hp winner in this family of vehicles), and the high school kids kept telling me they loved my car (I'm student teaching), I just didn't feel cool... Today was the first day that I had my jetta back, and I just couldn't wait to get behind the wheel, and I kept turning to look at it in the parking lot as i walked into school. A beat up Mk4 jetta on corvette wheels doesn't really catch anyone's eye who doesn't really know the scene. Sawblades on an Mk4 is said to be "played out" on the internet, so I know my application is not the "best", as I have looked at many pictures. I just feel better knowing the car is mine, and has a uniqueness that doesn't come off the showroom floor.
I cannot deny that money plays a huge roll, as an Mk4 is much cheaper to modify than a E36 M3, but I have had 17" borbet type As sitting in my basement since before I even had the jetta. I bought them off a guy in germany on bf.c, so it took a long time to get them shipped, so I had them a year before I owned my daily. I also ordered my coils for the M3 before I had the jetta.
Does anyone else put more priority on the stance of their daily than on their future show car?
