  • OT: Learn me S13.

    Sup OT.

Basically looking at pros and cons of 240's.

Recently, I had a bit of a downfall with my E36. Needing another daily so I can pay the bills, I came across a 93 Vert that has a refreshed body and fairly low miles and all factory, no mods. Aside from a leaky top and the common rust areas (car was refreshed w/ panel replacements, no bondo per PO) what are some of the downside/common issues?

Keeping in mind, I used to own an Altima that also comes with the KA24de. Any help is appreciated, as I will be trading my favorite toy (99 GSXR 750) for it.

besides rust ive never seen anything to look out for in my limited experience with them. i know they are reliable and since youve been around ka24's it should be smooth sailing

Timing chain Rattle is such an Easy fix. Popp off the Valve cover and remove the top chain guide. Sometimes you need to also remove the top front cam cover and remove a side chain guide, But I never had to.

Look for Rust on the frame, Wheel wells and strut towers, Floors. But you said he addressed it. Not Really much else. I've been Daily driving my S13 since 09 and its been great. Ask him if he's changed the fuel pump. They like to quit

            Thanks for the info!

Just came from looking at it. Had slight rust on the passenger tower, chopped rear springs (pink lowering springs in front, not sure what they are) partially gutted and the radiator support was twisted. Rear plastic window was done, and he taped it up. Body had a Maaco paint job, but the sheetmetal was clean. Had a 5spd swap, but had the ac and cruise removed with wires just left there.

Yeah, don't think ill trade my bike for it. He's asking $3500 for it too. Not worth it imo. Ill keep looking.

Definately not worth that price. From what you described i'd give him $300 and thats it. yes three hundred. The cars beat and sounds like a POS.

Funny part is, he even wanted me to toss in my gloves and helmet if we traded. I thought about just giving him my helmet and gloves for the car.

And as far as the coils go (if that's what pitbulldrifter meant) my old Altima's took a dump at 106k as well as the timing position sensor too. These were already replaced on the vert, but no paperwork for proof.
