  • WANTED: a reliable, stanceable, cool car....suggestions?

like the title says, im looking to get a more reliable car, as my e46 is becoming a money pit. i would really like to stay euro, but the words euro and reliable are hardly ever used in the same sentence...

    what you guys think?

ill just say my budget is $10k

10k? Any other requirements? I can seriously think of at least 30 valid options off the top of my head.

lol yea i know i can too, just cant really narrow it down as im kinda picky

i really dont want anything thats front wheel drive, but would consider an acura rsx, or a vw (but those arent super reliable) and nothing really old...like 2000+ yr model
no civics, no integras, no accords, etc

what is wrong with the e46? is it your specific car thats a lemon? those are pretty reliable as far as euros go.

          Truth.

Since you don't want FWD that helps narrow choices down. If I were you, I'd get an IS300.

idk man, in the last year i have replaced clutch/flywheel, alternator, oil filter housing, and an engine swap bc the original overheated and cracked the head

im liking the thoughts of a rsx-s if i can find the right one, or if i can find a 5spd is300 i might look into that!

                any other suggestions?

I have similar criteria when looking for a car. this is what i've come up with.

                        bmw e34 535i

                        volvo 240

                        3rd gen celica

                        bmw z3

                        is300
Hatchbacks, wagons... It's NOT all the same. You want in? Don't get a mazda 3, get a mazda 6 wagon. Don't get a wrx get a legacy wagon. and theres a reason the A3 isn't called the A3 avant... Scion does not make a wagon it makes a weird van, but no wagons

                        Sincerely,

                            e34- thought about it...how reliable?

volvo 240- hell no, i played with too many legos when i was a kid, and not a "good looking" car to me at all (unless modded like that tan one on here)

3rd gen celica- no thanks lol

z3- tryin to keep it reliable here, plus z3s are ugly to me unless a. highly modified or b. z2 m coupe

is300- looking into it, but hard to find one thats not auto

would really love to have an s2k but at 6'4" its a tight fit, too tight for everyday unfortunately

e34 535i is considered the most reliable best engine to date for bmw reliability.

if you can find one the volvo p1800 has the record for the most miles. and is probably one of the best looking volvos ever.
