things are pretty solid here in Texas. i guess you're going to the wrong events, cause VWs are a very small part of the Texas car scene.Originally posted by kaidotech View PostGood to see TX has a strong scene, but it's news to me here in Houston unless the entire stance scene revolves around VWs. I wouldn't dare try to bring my ride to one of their meets.
good things about Texas are it's huge and very diverse (so you can find somewhere you like), cost of living is cheap, economy is stronger than most any other state and no state income tax.025garage

I'd def like to know where good meets are if you could PM me. So far all the meets I've found are ricers so I just leave. Biggest one was Ricekiller with 400+ cars but that got shut down and was mostly ricers and musclecars. So weird.Originally posted by motocaddy View Postthings are pretty solid here in Texas. i guess you're going to the wrong events, cause VWs are a very small part of the Texas car scene.

I would advise against southwest FL. The cost of living here is very reasonable, but until you get up further north, what I would call the central west coast of Florida, there's not much of anything related to cars, especially stance aside from an oddball civic or vw.
Haven't spent much time on the east coast, nor North Florida, so I can't speak to that. I have HEARD that Orlando, Tampa, Sarasota to a lesser degree, and Ft. Lauderdale and Miami are all great spots. Cost of living in each of those mentioned areas is much more though. I will say that outside of July and August, you really can't beat the weather here. Our record low temparature all year is 36!

Well, you Sir, I would call batshit!Originally posted by slwrthnu View Postcompletely off topic, but that sounds absolutely awful...then again i enjoy being outside when it's -30.
I used to live in Syracuse, NY (upstate CNY) and moved to South Florida for exactly that reason. I can't stand the cold and the snow anymore. I miss snow around the holidays, but that's about it.
