  • Evo IX vs. B7 A4/A6

I want opinions. I've been looking to buy a car for quite a long time now (2 years) but I am really picky and have to find that one that is just right. I have always loved the Evo IX but I also love the Audi's.

An 2006 Evo IX came to my attention recently and it is exactly what I have been looking for. But on the other hand I have really been wanting a B7 A4 or A6 which I would eventually put on air.

I guess I am just putting this thread out there to gain some perspective.

To all the current Audi and Evo owners: What is the thing you love about your Audi/Evo and what is one thing you ****?

Benefits over one or the other? Thanks in advance for opinions/advice.

they are 2 completely different cars.

that said, the evo is a better car in every aspect except interior creature comforts.

I'd buy an A6 over an Evo. But that's just me.

Well between an Evo and an A6, the A6 wins IMO. BUT the best option would be an E39 540i with a 6spd. Can't beat it.

I drive a b7, but I'm currently trying to sell it to get into an Evo. haha.

What are you looking to get out of the car? You just want it to look good, or do you want performance too?

If you answered the first than the a4 is a great option. But if you're like me and want more all out performance the audi is kind of limited.
But if all you are after is a comfy daily driver I would absolutely recommend the audi.

Well of course I want it to look good lol and as far as performance I've always loved boost. This is where its gets tricky because I'm a sucker for luxury inside the car and the audis deliver in that area no doubt, but I dont NEED all that excess. I'm actually leaning towards the Evo more now after thinking about this.

I'd choose the Evo out of sheer fun factor. I drive an EvoX on the weekends and nothing has came close to it for me except an NSX. Granted it's no IX but you get the point. It always puts a smile on my face, even if it feels a little like a videogame at times.

I drove an evo 8 for the first time last summer and I instantly fell in love with it. Been looking for and Evo 9 ever since. But when I went to work for Audi I fell in love with those, I have problems when it comes to cars......I want too much all at once, but I'm sure we all share that same problem here

Buy an Evo 9, get the Recaros rewrapped in a soft leather, maybe add padding. Wrap the wheel in a soft leather. Upgrade the stereo, and you should have a comfortable Evo. Maybe even lay some dynomat down in the doors and floor to quiet down the cabin.
