Haha doesn't mean I don't dig your car. It's sweet as. Just couldn't live with it myself.

Serious, if you're gona get a Jag go for 80s/90s. Nothing newer than like 2000 when they went to shit. My mates XJ40 is amazing, leather as far as you can see, pretty good engine only had to replace injectors so far. Spent £1300 on it too.
Tell us what you really think. It sounds like you may not appreciate an X-Type [/sarcam]

Honestly, I don't care and just buy stuff that isn't commonly modified. In fact, I like that people **** it, it adds to the fun.

glanced at a few posts, and i have never even sat in a jag, let alone owned one. but my vote is to buy it. it's an older english car (so you KNOW there will be issues), but it's also an older english car, so you KNOW it was once the epitome of class.

then again, as a british citizen i am more than a bit biased.

3 series competitor is coming very soon as well as a Z4 competitor, which I will predict to be drop dead gorgeous.

oh and the XF shooting brake is right around the corner. Jag wagon, what's not to love?

I own a Jag, X-Type, total piece of shit: recently took the motor out and I've never been farther up shit creek without a paddle. but, I love it.

kinda the way it goes with these cars.

I must be lucky, but after almost 2 years of ownership, I've had no real issues. Getting custom parts is interesting (minagallery.com is a monopoly for a teeny tiny market of enthusiasts) or you need to make them one-off, but I live for that type of isht.

Get it, but buy 2 so you can drive the 2nd one while the first one is broken...

A friend in high school had one of these... It had a bunch of problems. Another friend of mine did some work on it, including: replacing all injectors, chasing a short through the whole dash, new a/c condenser, and some other stuff. I think her car was a late 90's/early 00's model.

Just make sure you get one with service records I guess. The only hard work he did was chasing the shorted wire in the dash, but it was a money pit for the girl that owned it.

    It's a 10-year old British car.

That sentence alone should start scaring you.

Don't buy that particular car purely because of the leaper on the bonnet, why the fuck anyone would put one on a car that Jaguar stopped putting them on is beyond me. Modern Jaguars are nowhere near as good as the older models, series 1,2 an 3 xjs etc. especially the S-type undoubtedly the worst Jag ever made.
