            The "25 year rule" means that any vehicle more than 25 yrs old can be imported to the USA without needing modifications to be legal. As far as I know, you'll just need to get the car through customs, then get it to the local MVD (Motor Vehicle Division), and get a US title.

            A registered vehicle importer may be able to help you out with getting a UK BMW into the states, but it's probably not worth it. You could always bring the car over in pieces, and convert a US spec BMW to UK spec, but that's kind of a gray area. Or you can bring the car in as a race/show only vehicle, which is really easy.
