  • Photo/computer nerds. Help a dumbass out

I'm trying to upload some pictures off my camera card but when I click on the drive it says my disk isn't formatted. This is the same card I've been using for the past 3 years or so and I uploaded some pictures with it last week. When I put it back in the camera I can still look at all the photos.

So whats up? And how do I fix it?

      Gawd.

I'll take one when I get home tonight. It loads for a long time before it says that too, probably 30 seconds or so of the hourglass.

Tried it in another PC first to rule that out?

If you are able to 'ignore' the message, copy the pictures to a temporary folder then format the card. Once you've done that, copy the files back over. If it does it again, you might want to check file integrity if you're worried. Any corrupted executable (like installation files or small .exe's) could possible cause a corruption in your registry. If they're just pictures, I wouldn't worry about it.

Don't have one, my camera is like 8 years old haha. I'll see if my girlfriends cable works.

I can't access the pictures at all. There's only pictures and maybe a video on the card.

Here's a screen shot of it happening.

I had same problem when I came back home after my cross country trip. It would take forever for pictures to load and then say that disk is not fomated. I eded up saving all of the pix on CD and then transfered them from CD to my Mac.
                Hope this helps.

How did you get them to the CD? This is probably what I need to do but I can't get at the pics at all. Any program I try to access them with says the disk needs to be formatted.
