  • n00b stance question.

    Hi All,

Not necessarily new to the whole stance/hellaflush scene, but fell head over heels when i realised what could be done to a standard e230 or series 7 bmw via the Appreciation threads on Stanceworks.

Currently looking into a e28 7 series or the like, but since I live in AUS everything car wise is relatively expensive, help from the 'rents should be enough to get me over the line for the outright purchase, but I want (need ) the stance that many members on this site are rolling on.
    /rant.

My real question is, how much as an average ball bark figure has it cost you, the members of stanceworks, to get the hellaflush look? Not all out, but some euro rims, hectic offset and the like.

    it all depends.

I've seen great things done for USD$1000 total (about AUD$500 at this rate ), and cars with 10k into air and 5k+ into rolling stock.

I think as a general rule with a relatively nice car and doing things "right" (not cut OEM springs + Rotas), you should count on spending about $3-5k for new stuff - less if you can find used. Of course, since you are on an island, shipping and parts availability depending on the car you choose can get interesting.

My family lives in Melbourne and I am used to spending more on shipping Xmas gifts than their purchase price and your online shopping in Oz is terrible compared to the states.

True, it might be worth waiting for certain points in time when the companies will have one of those "no shipping cost" sales haha.

The more dedication and patience you have, the less you'll spend in the end.
        Oh, and the E28 is the 1980's 5-series BMW, 7-series is E23.

About US$3,000 for RSs that I refurbished myself and coilovers and related suspension parts that I also installed myself. Probably saved myself around $1,500 compared to buying already perfect RSs and having a shop put in the suspension.
