I just wanted some honest feedback on how you all thought I could make it better. If you go look at my site you'll see that I wrote an article on Stanceworks earlier about how great this site is. I came to this forum and posted this thread seeking your guys help and wisdom, not to promote my site. So thank you to all of you who posted helpful feedback, I greatly appreciate it, and to those of you who didn't contribute to the conversation or at least try and give me feedback, why not just keep those thoughts to yourselves? I thought this was a community, not a damn trial.
Again, it's gonna be hard to get positive feedback on creating a new blog. Unfortunately there are a lot of people taking advantage of this "trend" in some eyes. When you go to your blog and see every google-ad plugin known to man up on your site, it looks like your taking advantage of your viewership. That immediately puts a bad taste in the viewers mouth. If you are serious about continuing your blog, hold your standards high, get rid of all the advertising crap, think outside the box and help evolve the scene with dynamic writing and content that no else has. Best of luck.

OP, what does your blog do that the hundred other ones just like it don't already do? it looks like you're just rehashing stuff you found on the internet. the heart of the stance community are the cars and the people, so if you love stance, focus your efforts there. whether it's modifying your car to a point where it inspires others, helping others with their cars or putting together meets, actions speak louder than blogspot websites.

Thank you for your feedback. I am in the process of saving up for a car right now, and to be honest, I am driving a 97 corolla that was given to me for free because I can't afford anything else. So when I have enough money to buy a real car, I will post the process on my site, and most likely on here.

LOL! I agree completely... You shouldn't be surprised that we aren't all being all happy and cheerful when you come to this established community trying to potentially draw people away. If you want to advertise your forum pay google to put you on the top of a search list. Maybe your best bet would be the search phrase "Car forums that will never get anywhere".

                            Right, my 5 cents worth...

So you're an avid writer who dreams of one day laying-chassis on a "real" car, you're possibly a broke-ass student wanting to do this in the shortest possible time. I'll agree that jumping on the 'stance' wagon would be a surefire way to get inerweb hits and then factor in the possible ad money you can make, you'd possibly be able to do this in a reasonably short time... Right?

                            Wrong son! Just fucking wrong!

Firstly you've got to understand what this whole automotive enthusiasm is born from; the love of cars, all cars, and to make it more specific to s|w, cars that are fitted as low as humanly possible. If, as you claim, you've been a s|w reader for a while you'd have seen that the spectrum of cars which are considered as hot/desirable/winning/money etc. are not always big money types which cost a fortune to start with. It could be damn well anything! And I mean anything on four wheels. Reffering to your 97 Corolla in such an ungrateful manner has left you upstream in a canoe without a paddle on this site. Learn to appreciate cars first and foremost. Do some work that you're proud of, and then start up a blog and hopefully people will respect what you've done and possibly create a following which'll generate some cash so you can upgrade to whatever else you dream of when it's time to put dick-in-sock...

I see where you are coming from in this, but I think that my words were taken the wrong way. I am not jumping on the "stance" bandwagon to make money or to seem cool. I have a true passion for it. And as far as my corolla goes, I was making reference to it to prove that I don't have an ample amount of money to put into my car right now, but I plan too. I have big plans for that corolla, and I want to do something to it that isn't normal, or bandwagon. I see m corolla as a learning experience, and I want to make it one of a kind.

But I also plan on spending the money, and putting in the time to create the car of my dreams. We were all young and reckless at one time, so think of that before you come on here and bash my thoughts or ideas. This thread was taken in the complete wrong way, and you guys have misread my intentions entirely. For those of you who did give me advice, I thank you.

This was a learning experience for me, but it should also be for all of you. Get to know a person and the whole situation before you bash them. People have feelings and to be honest, I lost a good deal of respect for some of you by the way you treated me. I did nothing threatening to you, and I did not disrespect any of you, and yet you still found reason to bash me.

I hope that this will not be taken in the wrong way, as almost all of my other posts have been. I love stanceworks, and I will continue to read it for as long as I can. I will support it in anyway I can. Thank you all for your time.

I, for one, welcome your passion and enthusiasm. Ignore the negativity.
