Dissapointed that the time required to close all the doors is not reported in the story. All of those covers and doors should be gravity powered to increase performance.

That house is more than secure. You could open the up stairs windows with no issue in a zombie apocalypse. They're not going to scale 10' of flat, smooth concrete to get up to you.
And the roller door is plenty safe assuming each slat is 1/2" plate steel.
I'm sure they didn't build a fortress and then put a home depot 20ga sheet thick roller door on it for a wall.
