    I live HERE that place just north of UK. i think im pretty much in one of the worst country for rust. And you say cleaning the car, will protect it. Well it will, but keep in mind most people wont wash under the car. so being galvanized "bmw" will out last a non galvanized car.

    A well kept and washed car doesn't just rust away. Out here rust is a problem (salt on the winter roads), Hondas maybe start to rust a little better, but I've seen lots and lots of rusted out beemers too.
    The rust resistancy depends of the owner.


    And cause I'm a Hondafan, Honda > Bmw.

    How much stuff been changed on your E30 in that 240k miles?
    Properly cared for Honda will do 240k + some and the only things you will have to warry about is brake pads, oil, and tires.
