Ok, since there maybe 10 people on this site who have been around long enough for the real beginnings of the modding style. So no, that's not at all what its implying.

Bandwagoning is something that I personally don't like, its the mentality of bandwagoners that pisses me off. They do it for all the wrong reasons.

I skipped a lot of posts but these two sum up my thoughts. Less stance blogs and mindless groupthink followers and more people building cars they enjoy and not doing it for some stupid websites/blogs/etc. I'm happy if the "stance movement" (God I h*a*t*e that fucking term) dies out, let the attention whores move on to the next trendy thing

Dumb thread is dumb. Who cares if the "movement" is ending, I will be committed no matter what, besides, it was cooler when the community was populated with just people in love with stance and not kids trying to join the next cool trend.

It will 'live on' with many that like it.

I don't foresee this being the next 'FnF craze' or 'altezzas' people still buy into that shiz, 10 yrs later lol

Hipsters of the car scene will move onto the next - those that can appreciate will continue to do so.

Some dude posted a pic from a '96 car show in Japan with a few VIP cars on big wheels/bodykits,etc on VSC [vipstylecars.com] - VIP style has been going on for over two decades, no reason 'stance' won't...

Fitment is relatively new in North America. It is not new at all in most places in the world and it is encorporated into almost all modding styles outside of NA- ie Europe, Japan, etc. It has just recently become mainstream in North America and other places in the world hence the many blogs and overall explosion of it. This does not mean it will disappear.

I know plenty of people that don't go on a single blog or forum but are still beginning to better their fitment. Clearly they are doing this because they sincerely enjoy it and not because it is a fad or trend. This is a stupid thread.

If anything modding cars is the "fad" nowadays and stance made it so because of how "cool" it can make a car look even to a person with no interest in cars. In result you have a bunch of hipsters and trendfollowers that want to fit in and/or stand out.

I didn't read the thread, but I for one don't think anything is ending or fading out.
It's becoming so common to see you simply don't see it anymore.
"Stance" has become part of what it takes to take a car to the "upper level" these days. You don't see stance go away.

It has been fading away...it blew up in late 2009 and early 2010, and since then it has been on the decline for the most part. Plenty of cars doing it, but there is little anymore that is a big deal.

Also, no offense to anyone here, but when this site came around and I first started lurking it (mid 2009) this WAS the beginning of the bandwagon. Sure, the people who first started posting here are legit, but this site led to other blogs being formed and things such as slammed month on Speedhunters. THAT is when people started jumping on the bandwagon.

I miss late 2009 when I would go to the old Hellaflush or Stanceworks and see the "first XXX stanced". It was cool to see an Evo, or an E92, or a 350z being "stanced." Prior to this 99% of the cars being stanced were either VWs, drift cars, VIP cars(with 99% of them being in Japan), or sometimes older BMWs.
