Thanks. They are track grips actually, I have cloth tape i've been meaning to put on. I had the drops laying around and how i was going to ride them was kind of an afterthought. so i cut the ends off some track grips and slid them on

I like your cannondale. I have an 88 SR600 criterium, all original down to the tires. it's for sale right now actually.

i'll post some more of my bikes

this is a beater. dont mind the inverted rear brake --spare parts build, front brake on the rear, would only mount that way.

also was built up like this previously

i had a 91 cdale SR600[almost exactly the same as my 90] once because i was visiting my wifes fam in the bay area and couldnt live without riding for 16 days. bought it for cheap of CL the second day and rode all over SF.

    jackass

shipped it home, jackass build and parted for profit lol

just sold this one[with different wheels] this summer after building it last winter and never even riding it.

and my miyata touring bike which i bought destroyed three months ago and fixed up. i'll ride this next spring with fenders on it.

i only bought it because it kinda matches the miyata i fixed up for the wife

i've had others but i think i should stop now.

o ya and this summer i made a killing on CL selling all the parts i had laying around from scoring cheap bikes and disassembling. for a while i was addicted lol

just kinda skimmed through here but looks like a few people don't have fixed gear bikes but might want to get into it.

check this site out, http://www.statebicycle.com/ i have contemplated ordering a bike but i dont need another one (already have 4). i work in a bike shop and had to put one together for somebody a while back. the quality of the parts that come on them is fairly decent. sealed bearing hubs, niceish cranks, frame and fork are definitely sick for the money. dont have a pic of my bike at the moment but its a surly steamroller with old school campy wheels

    Some beautiful bikes in here

Fixie is the commuter, bmx is... .the bmx. I **** riding in cold, so I only commute when it's above 50 degrees. when I do, it's 12 miles one way and that gets done in about 40 minutes. Sadly, it's all city riding with stoplights and idiot drivers. Really makes you appreciate when you can ride and not see a car/stoplight for miles.

For now, I'm still part of the "my bike cost more than my car" club

Hopeful additions within the next year

only fixay bikes? i'll post my current bikes, no track bike right now...

my 1990 cannondale SR600 criterium[as pictured 1x8 -- singlespeed now, no pic]. i bought this bike all original, time capsule style, and ruined it commuting over the past 3 years/swapping parts/treating it rough. bikes are meant to be ridden. this one likes to go fast.

my 2009 felt breed SSCX. i bought this bike because some of my friends who i ride with on the street are into MTBs and they were doing this crazy 60km race[paris2ancaster, google it] so i thought i'd try it. we had 30kmh winds, snow, sleet, rain, mudslides, on and off road cutting farmers fields and riding in ditches --so much fun. im signed up again for next year in hopes of crushing my time of 3hrs flat.

    post race:

    yours truly:

i did the race with a messenger bag full of tallboys. lol

do you guys commute on your bikes? i ride if its +2deg C and not raining or snowing at 5am. 60kms round trip. takes me about an hour each way.

They are bars from the nishiki when it was a hybrid. I just flipped them and gave them some flashy grips haha.
It's got a long way to go, though.
