  • Interesting Find on Cars.com Today

    Cars.com Link

So as far as I can tell, I found a mislabeled BMW Z1. Now, I didn't even know what those were til I searched it.

Go search it, make sure you find a video of the doors in action. Now come back.

The car is soooo fugly, but it's really rare (ONLY 8000 made ever and NONE directly imported into the US) and I think someone could make a ton of money off of this thing.

For $4500, this person selling it either doesn't know what it's worth, or it's in shit condition.

    BIG OL' EDIT:
Heh, had the link where the label should've gone... noob-self comin atcha. Give it another go.

that's awesome, and such low miles. though finding parts would be near impossible.

someone should pick it up and stance it

          Kewl, love the doors.

If that is a picture of the actual car, then its RHD, so maybe there is an issue with making it street legal.

I wish I could get these doors with an E30 Cabrio. This car is interesting, but it's one of those things you ADD to a collection, not start a collection with. I still need to graduate and start my collection, I can't be flying up to NY to buy some crazy rare/awesome/weird Bimmer.

The Z1 drivetrain is based off of the E30 along with the suspension components, and BMW is notorious for making their parts interchangeable. I wouldn't be surprised if a full E30 kit of parts wouldn't be 90% compatible.
